Just an FYI…

We will be taking a couple weeks away from the office and the country in May to enjoy a vacation before our wedding season goes full steam. We will be away May 10th-26th. During this time print and album orders will be delayed until our return. It may also take a couple of days for us to respond to emails, it is vacation after all! :) I will ensure any print order recieved before the end of the business day on 5/6/8 will make it out in time for our departure. Any weddings currently in production will also be completed before departure.

If anyone has any questions please send me an email!

I’ll be posting some photos I’ve taken on our previous trips to our vacation locales as we get a little closer to that time, so I’m not letting the “cat of of the bag” as to where we’re headed until then. :)

Heather + Mike | Married!

This past Saturday we were at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club in Genoa, NV just on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. There was a spectacular view of the mountains and surrounding area from the Club, and we made the most of the setting even with pretty steady 50mph gusts of wind. Thanks for toughing it out and looking cool even with the breeze. :-)

The ladies: Heather is top left.

The gentlemen: Mike is top left. Gotta love Justin’s “Blue Steel” :-)

Heather’s dad, Howard showing off his pink socks after delivering a touching speech. The socks were apparently the one concession he was given to his usual colorful wardrobe. :-)

This DJ knew how to get the party going, and keep it going! I’ve never seen dancing like this on such a large scale. He practically choreographed the entire reception. They brought him up from Southern Cal, and he and his team were awesome! His name is Bino, and he rocks the house!

We had a great time with you all, thanks and enjoy your Honeymoon Heather and Mike!!

Tuyet + Duy | Engagements

We spent a couple of hours with Tuyet and Duy this past Saturday shooting their engagement photos in Golden Gate Park. Tuyet wore a traditional Vietnamese outfit for their session, and even brought along her veil for good measure! They both looked amazing on the warmest Saturday I’ve felt in SF in quite some time. We finished the session with Duy riding with Tuyet on the back of our 1956 Vespa! A helpful hint if you ever take photos on a vintage Vespa, make sure you keep any flowing sashes on your garment away from the engine while it’s running. Don’t ask how we learned that lesson. :-)

See you soon, Tuyet and Duy!

Leily + Nick | Married!

I spent this past Saturday documenting the wedding between Leily and Nick. We started out with some portraits at the Legion of Honor, then headed to Sausalito to board the Merlot Yacht by Commodore Events. The ceremony and reception were held on the Yacht in the middle of the San Francisco Bay.

At the end of the ceremony they released 2 white doves.

Flowers by Poppy’s Petalworks:

They had a very cool piece of tradition I haven’t seen before. The bridesmaids did a dance with the cake knife to present it to the bride and groom. There was a catch though. Nick had to pay for the knife, and even after taking his money they weren’t quick to give up the knife. I think they were holding out for more. :-) Fun.

Congratulations Leily and Nick! We had a great time working with you!

Published in PDN’s Top Knots 2008!

Once a year the amazing photographic industry magazine PDN hosts a contest for the best of the “new school” of wedding images. I’m thrilled to say one of my images from last year made it into the April issue of the magazine! I’m completely floored and honored to be featured among this awesomely talented group of wedding photographers, in my favorite magazine! Here is the winning photo:
