Kathy + Matt | Engagements!

We had a super cool Engagement Session this past weekend with Kathy and Matt. They chose a beautiful location that means alot to them. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day! One of their favorite things to do is to come here and ride their bikes, and they are pretty serious cyclists. We even got a chance to shoot them with their bikes! There are some more action oriented ones in that series as well, but I love the one I’m showing here. One of the themes of their wedding is the Oak Tree, so one of our focuses was to get some killer shots incorporating them into the shoot.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you again in August! See you soon!

Christine + Stephen | Engagements!

We had a fantastic Engagement Session here in San Francisco on Sunday morning. Starting at 6AM matter of fact! Getting to know Christine and Stephen a bit better, and making the shots was worth the sleep deprivation!

I couldn’t decide whether I liked BW or color better for these next couple so I’m delivering both. Leave me a comment and let me know which you like better:

Thanks Christine and Stephen! We’re looking forward to your wedding in August!

Lan + Kiyomi | Married!

This past Saturday we had the absolute pleasure of getting to spend our day at Kiyomi and Lan’s Wedding in Berkeley. You may remember them from their Engagement session. They are as much fun as ever, and that part of their personalities radiated all day.

Check her out!

How cute is this guy:

Sneaking a peek:

They gave me some time to make some great portraits, so we took advantage and I found a spot with a killer view of San Francisco:

Sorry ladies, the guy in middle is taken. I’m not sure about the other two though. :-)

The flowers were by Moe’s Flowers in Berkeley:

The bridesmaids did an awesome hat dance! Love it!

They brought some mean moves to the dance floor! They had a fantastic routine worked out for their 1st dance.

There was a photo booth complete with costumes, and I caught the happy couple. I just stuck my lens in the curtain, not sure if they knew I was there or not.

Kiyomi and Lan, we’ve had so much fun working with you guys that we’re sad there’s no more shooting to do! Congratulations, and have a fabulous honeymoon in Japan!

It’s official!

This was San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom addressing the media and supporters after the cake was cut, and after Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon’s wedding ceremony, which he also officiated. This couple has been together for over 50 years, and was also the first couple to be married during the 2004 same sex marriages in SF, that were later deemed invalid.

It was difficult to get too close without media credentials, but I was happy to just be a part of something historic, and supporting this amazing couple!

I haven’t had anyone take me up on the offer to photograph their ceremony at City Hall tomorrow, but the offer is still on the table for any couples interested!

Congrats to Del and Phyllis, and everyone else!

Free wedding coverage on June 16th and 17th at SF City Hall!

As most people by now probably know there has recently been a decision in the California Supreme Court that overturned a ban on same sex marriages in California. I wholeheartedly support this decision, and as a wedding photographer have a tangible way to show my support for these couples wishing to be joined in a legal marriage.

At 5:01 on June 16th this decision will go into effect, and at least here in San Francisco they will be immediately commencing the weddings at City Hall. There is supposed to be an unprecedented number of weddings per day, 250+ by some estimations. They will even be extending their hours and bringing in volunteers to help handle the huge demand.

To offer my support for these couples who have waited so long for this right, and to be a part of this historic milestone, I would love to offer my services free to couples who value photography on June 16th and June 17th for weddings taking place at City Hall. I would be happy to offer up to a 2 hour coverage of the event, an online gallery, and a free 8×10 print. This is a value of $875.

I honestly have no idea if anyone will take me up on this, but I really want to reach out and make the gesture. I will do as many as can be scheduled on the 16th and 17th on a first come, first serve basis.

If interested please leave a comment below with your email address or fill out my Contact form on my main website Brunk Photography to schedule your time!

I welcome any support my readers might be able to provide in getting the word out there that I’m making this available!

Thank you!
