Kathy + Matt | Married!

This is Kathy and Matt’s gorgeous wedding at the fabulous Calistoga Ranch. You might remember them from their Engagement Session a couple months back. It was a great day in wine country even if it was a bit toasty. :) They really have exquisite taste and put on a beautiful event.

On to the pics!

Kathy’s Maggie Sottero gown from J’aime Bridal. I hope I did it justice!

Matt chose to have his sisters represent him on his side of the bridal party. I loved how close they all seemed and the care the sisters took in getting him ready for his bride.

Look at that sky!

I love vineyards!

This room was spectacular!

Now that’s how you show off a cake!

I love this look I caught when they thought no one was watching.

Matt’s sisters gave him a good roasting, with love of course. The title of this if you can’t read it is “Top 5 things you found out too late”. I think my favorite was the “Owns a Joey Fatone” doll. :)

Some moments on the dance floor:

A Full moon greeted us at the end of the night:

Congrats, and best of luck you two!

Carly + Erik | Married!

Here is the wedding of Carly and Erik on the 9th in the Squaw Valley area of Lake Tahoe. The wedding was at The Geisen Property, a private residence on the Truckee River that made for an amazing backdrop.

OK forgive me for a second. Before we get into the pics I’m going to take a second to talk about my very talented wifey. My wife Malarie works in the corporate offices of Sephora as a trainer and is quite skilled with her background with cosmetics/skincare. She was the makeup artist for this wedding which was fantastic, and also saved the couple from a second travel fee to Tahoe. She did a beautiful job, and very importantly from my perspective stayed on time, so we didn’t lose our portrait time. Thanks Wifey! If any of my brides are interested in her services, please let us know.

I loved this message Erik sent a couple hours before the wedding. I hope you can read it! Digits blurred for their protection. :)

The flowers were gorgeous. I liked the feathers, nice touch.

We stopped for a few portraits with the beautiful backdrop of Squaw Valley:

Love the look on Erik’s face seeing his bride.

A moment during the speeches:

Carly does a mean “Blue Steel”:

OK, we got the rings and used a log off to the side of the reception for a background. Everyone thought we were insane. To them it just looked like I was off taking closeup pictures of a log. I had more than one person that night ask us why we were taking pictures of a log. Then when I said that it was a “Ringshot” they thought I was talking about the rings in the tree, and that I truly was some crazy artist. :) When I said “No, the wedding rings!” they still thought I was crazy, but it made a bit more sense. Here’s the proof:

OK I had to include a series of images that I love. There is a massive rock in the river that is fairly accessible from shore, but tough to climb in full on wedding gear. Carly and Erik had decided that they must climb the rock. This series is the fun they had getting to the summit and back. I must say I was quite impressed with Carly’s leap on the way up there in her dress. I was equally impressed watching Erik scurry up the rock in leather soled shoes. Needless to say there were no shoes on the way back down. :)

A little animation of the jump back to shore:

Yum!

This guy cracked me up. He was working his butt against his wife’s pregnant belly while dancing. I think the song was “Baby got Back” :)

Thanks Carly and Erik for throwing such a great wedding and fun party for us to capture!

Congrats from Malarie and myself!

Stephanie + Mark | Married!

You may remember Stephanie and Mark from their Engagement Session from a while back. They got married on the much coveted 08-08-08 date this year at St Vincent Ferrer Church, and had their reception at the Hiddenbrooke Country Club.

Love the kids!

How about that smile huh? :-)

Mark is crazy about guitars (he had a room full!). He’s practicing for the song he performed at the reception.

Mark loves him some Stephanie.

They started out with the sweet “first dance” but broke into a crazy choreographed Megamix of songs. Fun!

I think this was “Walk Like an Egyptian”. :)

They sang a song to eachother and the guests at the reception.

Congrats and best of luck you two!

Christine + Stephen | Married!

Christine and Stephen may look familar from their Engagement Session in SF from a couple months back. Their wedding was at the beautiful Monte Verde Inn in Forest Hill, CA. It was a gorgeous day, and a really nice, intimate feeling event.

On to the pics!

Getting the ring on is sometimes tricky. :-)

I really liked the look Christine shot Stephen after the ceremony.

We got some great portraits before the reception, everything was timed perfectly to give us the best light of the day.

I love this barn!

One of my very favorite cake shots ever!

Congrats you two! Malarie and I wish you the best of luck in your new life together out in Iowa!

Natalie + David | Married!

Natalie and David’s wedding at the San Mateo County Hisorical Museum just positively oozed with personality and creativity, and fit them perfectly. Wait until you see the flowers and cake. Any wedding involving a ‘64 Ford Falcon, and a 1950 Studebaker Champion is cool in my book.

OK look closely, but not too close! These flowers bite! :) Yes those are Venus Flytraps.

How could I not include this? It’s pretty rare that you get the horns during the wedding day portraits. :)

Some Falcony goodness. Did I mention that this is Natalie’s ride?

How cool is the dome? Is it just me or does it look like they’re about to be beamed up?

Dress bustling gone awry:

Alright, we made it to the cake. Recognize the little characters on the cake? Yes, they’re from Super Mario Brothers. See the cake toppers? Natalie and Dave made those themselves, to emulate her in her Falcon and he in the Champion. Doesn’t get much more awesome than that.

These great cufflinks are family heirlooms:

This venue was just screaming for some long exposure night photographs:

Check out Natalie’s bunny slippers. She made those too!

Congrats you two, we had an absolute blast with you guys!
