We spent our Halloween shooting a fantastic wedding between Vanessa and Alberto. Vanessa got ready at the Rose Hotel, and the wedding was at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton.
It was a really fun day, although I must admit I was hoping to see someone show up to the reception dressed like a chicken or something.![]()
Vanessa’s Mom Yolanda helping get the dress all sealed up:
Vanessa was a crazy beautiful bride:
My fav portrait of the day:
The girls:
This was a group of Men’s Men. They needed a shot that fit that:
I’m always a sucker for a cool door:
I loved this room, very dramatic. Also very dark! For you other photo geeks out there, it was ISO 3200 and either 1.4 or 1.2 the whole time.
I had the chance to shoot portraits in a vineyard in pitch black dark for the first time. It was pretty awesome!
The bling:
That’s Vanessa’s Dad Alberto during the toasts. Yes her Dad is also Alberto. So is her brother! Made it easy on me, when in doubt I’d just go with Alberto.![]()
There were some pretty funny t(r)oasts:
Love these first dance shots!
It was quite the party, it was hard to narrow the fun shots down.
I think she was trying to steal her man away.![]()

I think this is my personal favorite shot of the day. Yolanda and Alberto on the dance floor during “Baby Got Back”. Awesome.
Congratulations to Vanessa and Alberto. Thanks for sharing your day with us!!
Special thanks to Kiyomi and Lan who referred this wedding to us, and to my friend Josh Johnston who came out all the way from Illinois to shoot along with me! Vanessa and Alberto will get to see the great stuff he got too when they get their complete gallery. In the meantime keep an eye on his blog, and you may get the chance to see some of the killer shots he got that day a little sooner.
