This past weekend we had the great pleasure of shooting Amy + Ryan’s wedding here in SF. It’s nice to have one in our own backyard, and even nicer to walk home afterward! Amy + Ryan may look familiar from their awesome engagement session back in the Fall! This wedding was an absolute blast to shoot. Amy and Ryan have a wonderful vibe together, Amy was a beautifully expressive bride ensuring there were going to be lots of fun images, and their friends and family know how to Par-tay! This was definitely one of those weddings where I wanted to put down the cameras and jump on the dance floor myself! I did keep shooting however, and I was rewarded with some images that are hilariously full of life.
I started with Amy just before the start of the ceremony. This has got to be one of my very favorite bridal portraits ever! The ceremony was at the beautiful St Patrick’s Church in SOMA.

An emotional moment during the ceremony, Ryan offers his shoulder.

Ryan was eerily comfortable with the bouquet.![]()

The church is adjacent to the Contemporary Jewish Museum, so I got to play with those cool blue walls a bit. I love the way they look when we light them up!

Another fav!

I love how natural this one feels. We think Amy is just happy to be warm.![]()

Ryan kept Amy laughing all day long!

Their reception was at the Neiman Marcus Rotunda. I didn’t even know you could have a wedding there, but they did, and it was an amazing and really unique layout and backdrop.

They had a bunch of cool postcards as one of their details, and how could I resist this ring shot? I couldn’t. Ryan and his fam are from Nebraska, so this seemed a fitting homage.

A fun moment during the toasts:

Some first dance images:

Sit down and hold on, cause the crazy train is about to depart.
These are some of my most fun reception/dancing pics ever!

I wish I remembered what song was playing for this one!

Love these two bouquet toss images:

This was of course, during “Baby Got Back”.

What do you do when you want to do a break dancing spin, but can’t do it self propelled? Get a couple of friends.

A parting venue shot.

Amy and Ryan, thanks for choosing us to spend this day with you, we had a blast! I hope Hawaii is treating you well!
