Victoria + Arif | Engaged!

Making images of another photographer is always interesting, and it’s also immensely flattering.  One would think they would want to have a ton of creative control themselves, but in fact it seems to me the more a person knows about making images, the more they want you to do your thing without parameters to see if you can produce something they may not have thought of.  Arif has been a wedding photographer himself in the past, and a pretty good one at that, so I knew this was going to be fun.

Victoria and Arif asked me for some ideas of where I wanted to shoot, and the option we went with was Building REsources here in SF.  I’ve wanted to shoot there ever since I first visited about a year ago.  I knew it would be a challenge, the epitome of creating visual order from chaos.  It takes a special couple to understand why I’d want to shoot engagement photos in what is essentially a junkyard, so thank you for the trust.

We’re looking forward to the wedding next month!  See you again soon.
