We have been on a bit of a blog hiatus and happily chose Cate and Austin’s wedding to help us get back in the groove!
From the first meeting with Cate and her parents (Art and Mary), we knew this was a perfect fit for us. In their company, there is a constant air of positivity and a focus on the things in life that matter most. On the wedding day, after getting to meet additional family and friends, we were even more enthralled. By then, it felt like we were all old friends. All of this made it easy for us to make some beautiful images. It didn’t hurt that we had the amazing SF backdrop from the top floor of the Westin St Francis. We also escaped to Yerba Buena Gardens before the ceremony for some portraits.
We loved capturing the unabashed affection between Cate and her parents. I have to admit, we were a little jealous of how close they were (we even asked Art and Mary if they would consider adopting us – we were only partly kidding)! After the wedding, we received a heartfelt thank you letter from Mary. It was undoubtedly the most amazing compliment we have ever received – thank you![]()

I loved the intricate wedding cake from Elegant Cheesecakes, featuring skylines from three different cities, each one uniquely important to Cate and Austin. Kristin of Petals and Posy did a remarkable job with the flowers (you may remember her wedding back in 2010). Cate actually designed the skyline graphic for the invitations (impressive!), and they were completed by Megan Ward at Red Pearl Designs. Cate’s makeup and hair artist was Lucy-Zayne Nsour. The dance party did not disappoint (it was hard for us to resist joining in on the fun), with help from DJ Denon and Doyle!

Thank you Cate and Austin for sharing the ‘Best Day Ever’ with us!
