Besides being lots of fun, we will occasionally stumble upon a really great location for an engagement shoot! Lauren and Patrick were game when I described the spot, and off we went to explore further. It was so lush we felt like we were in a rainforest. Hard to believe it was so close to the city.

My camera was so close to the water here my lens got wet!

We really enjoyed our time with Lauren and Patrick.  Wait until you see the images from their wedding!

]]> http://brunkblog.com/2011/08/05/chakameh-roozbeh-engaged/feed/ 0 Jordan + Mike | Engaged! http://brunkblog.com/2011/05/08/jordan-mike-engaged/ http://brunkblog.com/2011/05/08/jordan-mike-engaged/#comments Sun, 08 May 2011 22:06:44 +0000 Cliff http://brunkblog.com/?p=3815 Some couples are just so comfortable together in front of the camera the sessions almost shoot themselves.  I hadn’t met Jordan and Mike until the evening of the session, but we all hit it off like old friends right away.  They were a referral from a past client, (Thanks Tiffany!) but we were already booked for their wedding day.  After getting to know them a bit we’re all the more bummed we won’t be there for the wedding, as I’m certain it’s going to be a blast!  Mike proposed to Jordan at a pier near the Ferry Building, and they met on a boat under the Bay Bridge, so this area has quite a bit of meaning to them as a couple.  Lucky for me it also happens to be very photogenic. :-)

Cycling around the area is one of their favorite pastimes, so we made several images with the bikes.  These are my favs.

]]> http://brunkblog.com/2011/05/04/christine-pete-engaged/feed/ 4 Victoria + Arif | Engaged! http://brunkblog.com/2011/04/27/victoria-arif-engaged/ http://brunkblog.com/2011/04/27/victoria-arif-engaged/#comments Wed, 27 Apr 2011 19:40:42 +0000 Cliff http://brunkblog.com/?p=3784 Making images of another photographer is always interesting, and it’s also immensely flattering.  One would think they would want to have a ton of creative control themselves, but in fact it seems to me the more a person knows about making images, the more they want you to do your thing without parameters to see if you can produce something they may not have thought of.  Arif has been a wedding photographer himself in the past, and a pretty good one at that, so I knew this was going to be fun.

Victoria and Arif asked me for some ideas of where I wanted to shoot, and the option we went with was Building REsources here in SF.  I’ve wanted to shoot there ever since I first visited about a year ago.  I knew it would be a challenge, the epitome of creating visual order from chaos.  It takes a special couple to understand why I’d want to shoot engagement photos in what is essentially a junkyard, so thank you for the trust.

We’re looking forward to the wedding next month!  See you again soon.

]]> http://brunkblog.com/2011/04/27/victoria-arif-engaged/feed/ 4 Mandi + Khoa | Engaged! http://brunkblog.com/2011/04/17/mandi-khoa-engaged/ http://brunkblog.com/2011/04/17/mandi-khoa-engaged/#comments Sun, 17 Apr 2011 23:11:10 +0000 Cliff http://brunkblog.com/?p=3770 This weekend we had the pleasure of romping around SF near the ballpark with Mandi + Khoa.  Khoa is a big Giants fan, while Mandi supports the A’s, so we made a some images with their jerseys depicting the rivalry, but my personal favorites tend to be of the unthemed variety, so that’s what I’m featuring here.  Mandi + Khoa being Mandi + Khoa.  Khoa is definitely the strong, silent type and Mandi is infinitely bubbly.  They are very gentle and sweet together.

We’re looking forward to July you two!

I’m experimenting with the idea of eliminating the “Cliff Brunk” watermark from blog images as well.  Let me know if you have thoughts one way or the other.

So difficult to pick a favorite from this session, but I think this is it:
